Biologically, the cocoa is a plant which has its origins in the basin of the Amazon. There was evidence of its cultivation and consume in this part of the world since 5500 years ago. The beans are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and have anti-inflammatory and antiallergenic properties. The flesh contains fibre, glucose and sucrose, vitamins A, B1, B2, C, niacin and minerals as magnesium, copper, chromium, manganese, zinc, iron, phosphorus and calcium and a big quantity of antioxidants that protect the free radical cells, preventing illnesses.
